Delays in the next Xbox could spell doom for Microsoft…
a post on [Joystiq] pretty much states the obvious. Microsoft wants to release the next generation XBox before Sony can release the next generation play station.
However another post over on [The Gamer Gene Blog] is saying the next gen Xbox won’t be released until 2011.
This is bad timing, if M$ wants to stay on top (which they are falling currently) they need to get this next system out next year.

How would this spell doom for Microsoft, this will more like spell a good earner with the 360 doing aswell as it is, and if MS have made a 360 slimline by then than they would be able to rake some cash in, and even if not MS said they they will support the ‘360 as long as It sold’ if the 720 is not releaced until 2011, then that means that there will be more hardware and software extensions and more time for peripherals like the 3d a firmware update that everyone is banging on about and most importantly more games, to add to there liabary so that by the time the 720 comes out MS will have a lead from the 360, it is very possible and if microsoft do pump in this new technology in to the 360, than there could very well be big things for the xbox brand, and remember we are in a very difrent climate to the last gen, last gen it was just the tech in the consoles that mattered and now it is the features inside the consoles aswell to give more flexibilty in the markets consoles, and last gen the Xbox was just getting established, and altough microsoft could have been more aggresive selling the Xbox last gen, they are in a complety diffrent one this gen, and that’s why it is not doom, but a good earner that the 360 won’t get a succsesor until 2011, and if as microsoft say ‘they support the 360 as long as it sells’ they could make a even better one in the next generation of home game consoles. mcjakeqcool
