Street Fighter IV

Posted by pogowolf on February 28, 2008

Street FighterI don’t know many people that didn’t get a Street Fighter addiction at some point of their life, if you are one of them, congratulations because you’re part of the minority.

On the other hand, if you consider yourself inside the 87% of majority that played this fighting game for long periods of hours (sometimes days), cheer up because the new version – Street Fighter IV – is just around the corner.

This Street Fighter version is made by the popular video game developer Capcom, and its release date is suppose to match the 20th anniversary of the first version of the game.

So what kind of new stuff is included in Street Fighter IV?

- Two characters: a judo fighter named Abel, and a high-tech special agent – Crimson Viper – that uses fire and electricity as his weapons.

- Moves: “focus attack” that offers immunity while attacking other players, and a new attack move called “ultra combo” that works as revenge when you’re getting your ass kicked.

And for all the real Street Fighter fans, you’ll be pleased to know that there is a new movie currently on the works, that will feature Kristin Kreuk – sexy girl – as one of the characters.

According to Seth Killian who is an ex-street fighter champion and now works for Capcom, the game will be good enough for all the experts, and all the rookies:

Later Street Fighters became complicated and were very expert-focused. This is more accessible but still with plenty in it for experts.

Sony to Introduce New Blu-Ray Players

Posted by pogowolf on February 28, 2008

Sony Corp. President Ryoji Chubachi speaks to the media during a joint news conference with Sharp President Mikio Katayama in Tokyo Japan Tuesday Feb. 26 2008. Sony and Sharp are tying up in the flat-panel TV business with Sony investing in a Sharp p ...

According to Sony’s President, Ryoji Chubachi, some new Blu-Ray players will be hitting the shelves around summer.
The new players will be able to download bonus materials like trailers and games from the Internet

The BDP-S350 player Sony plans to introduce this summer for “about $400″ will be the company’s first to feature an Ethernet port, allowing it to connect to a home broadband connection. However, it won’t be able to access Internet content when it ships – a software upgrade will be available later to enable that feature, known as BD-Live.   A second player, the BDP-S550, will be available this fall for “about $500″ and will be BD-Live-capable when it ships.

Both players can show picture-in-picture content and will be the first Sony Blu-ray players to do so, apart from the PlayStation 3 game console, which gained this feature via software update last year. The picture-in-picture feature, called Bonus View, can be used to show director or actor commentary in a small window while the movie plays.

pogowolf “So, why should you, the consumer care?  One reason is that the current PS3 with the software upgrades is much more cost effective than the Blu-Ray player models above listed.  Another is that the wait time needed for the software upgrades to enable the PnP functionality.  The PS3 is the best choice at the moment, until Sony gets everything smoothed out with its hardware issues as a result of their victory in the Hi-Def DVD race.  What is Sony going to do next?  Stay tuned!

More on the MASS EFFECT sex scandal…

Posted by pogowolf on February 28, 2008

More PROOF that Fox ‘news’ has no idea what they are talking about.  What’s up with this crap??!
Shouldn’t the news report in a truthful, forthcoming manner?  Shouldn’t the news be reporting well, THE NEWS?

This isn’t news.  This is troll bait.
But it does make me want a copy of the game these idiots are playing.

Even children are smart enough to know that jumping on a person is NOT going to make a coin pop out of their ass.
studies or no studies…

Grrrrrrrrrr.. Stupid Humans.

And another MMO bites the dust…

Posted by pogowolf on February 28, 2008

Shane Kim, has confirmed that ‘MARVEL UNIVERSE’ is dead.

Marvel Universe Online

“I don’t think it’s necessarily a case of what went wrong,” Kim told me. “I don’t know that that’s the right way to put it. For us we look at our priorities and all of the things we have to do. It’s a tough space. It’s a very competitive space. And it’s a space that’s changing quite a bit. …When we first entered into the development and agreement of the development of ‘Marvel Universe Online,’ we thought we would create another subscription-based MMO. And if you really look at the data there’s basically one that’s successful and everything else wouldn’t meet our level or definition of commercial success. And then you have to look [and say]: ‘Can we change the business model for that? Is that really viable given how far we are in development? And so forth. Does Marvel want to do that?’ There’s a whole bunch of factors.”

The Dream Authentics Tabletop Arcade Game

Posted by pogowolf on February 28, 2008

Dream Authentics Tabletop Arcade Game

Man, didn’t you just love the eighties? They used to have these places called “arcades”, where you could play all varieties of video games standing up that had a wide diversity of controllers ranging from track-balls, spinners, and the good old joystick with buttons.

The Dream Authentics Tabletop Arcade Game recaptures the spirit of that unfortunately bygone era, without the whole standing up part. A player can now sit down at their desk and enjoy classic games such as Pac-Man, Tempest, Centipede, Gauntlet, as well as 150 other classic titles from the big video game corporations like Atari, Midway, and Namco.

This Arcade flashback from the eighties can also act as a quarter-munching fad from the fifties: a jukebox. Unfortunately, this device doesn’t use old donut 45s, but relies completely on playing MP3s of your favorite tunes. The whole device is powered by a slimline PC with a 19 inch screen.

Man, what I wouldn’t give to have a time machine to drop this off in the eighties. Man, I could have old-school video gamers chucking the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Intellivision, Colecovision, and the eventually the Nintendo Entertainment System out the window. I would have sold them on playing authentic arcade games sitting on your rear without a pocketful of quarters.

Too bad the Dream Authentics Tabletop Arcade Game costs about $2,495.95. Dang, that’s like 9,984 quarters. Well, if you’re willing to drop that amount of money, feel free to go to the Hammacher Schlemmer site and lay it down.
